Shake It Off

Shake It Off

Once upon a time, a farmer’s donkey fallen down into a well.  While he was trying to figure out what to do, the poor donkey was braying for hours.  Finally, the farmer decided not to rescue the donkey; therefore, he decided to close-off the well, because the donkey was too old and not worth the rescue.  The farmer asked neighbors for help; each neighbor  came to help him, and took a shovel and began to throw down soil into the well, to fill the well.  When the helpless donkey noticed what the people were doing, it started  braying even louder.   Suddenly, silence took place instead of the screams by the donkey. After the neighbors were throwing many shovels of soil into the well, the farmer looked down into the well and couldn’t believe what he saw.

The smart donkey was shaking off the soil from on top of himself, and stepping on it, so that he was preparing a sort of hill in order to climb the well.  As long as the neighbors and the farmer were throwing soil into the well, the donkey was stamping on top of the soil.  Eventually, the intelligent donkey took its last step beyond the edge of the well, to step onto ground level, under everyone’s astonishments.

Life may throw dirt on you all the time, with all that shit.  The secret to get out of a mess is to shake of the dirt, and go up one step.  Even if you are in a deepest well, don’t give up, shake it off and rise a little more.

Rest in Peace My Uncle

Uncle Nevzat
Yesterday was one of the most  sorrowful day of my life because I was shocked by a sad news from a Facebook post  shared by one of my cousin . It was about my uncle, who had  been diagnosed with liver cancer nine months ago,  passed away.  Although that poor event was an expected result, it was a tough situation to face with.

He was the father of two daughters and two  sons besides he was the lovely uncle of  his nephew and niece.

The best thing that he left behind for everyone is his example . He was so full of life that most people surprised to learn that he was struggled with cancer.  Even short after extremely painful and exhausting  chemotherapy treatments, he kept encouraging people around him to love living and to fight with all obstacles no matter what life brings to them.  He made investments, lived his life fulfill, earned lots of money, lost lots of money , and betrayed by people who was closed to him, but he never gave up. In other words , he faced the world with hope and optimism ; he was a warrior.

Among every family member , he was known  as helpful, kind, and generous man who never hesitated  sharing even one peny in his pocket. In his last days he was  man who was out of money yet his heart was full of love; he  has been loved deeply . He will be missed forever.

Rest in peace dayıların dayısı* !

* Dayıların Dayısı :Uncle Nevzat's nickname which means "uncle of all uncles"

Imagination vs Knowledge

Information is More Important Than Knowledge

I want to share with you one of my favorite Einstein quotes which is " Information is more important than knowledge." I have to prepare a presentation about it, so that i have found some interesting information.   In October 26 1929 George Silvester Viereck  interviewed with that genius physician about his quote.  Here is Einstein reply to the interviewer*

" I am not suggesting knowledge is meaningless. Knowledge is a well traveled path that keeps us grounded from one point to another. Imagination takes us beyond where our feet are planted. Imagination gives us wings to soar above today's problems to find tomorrow solutions. knowledge should be used to guide imagination and discovery not preclude it. What difference could I make if I explored what was possible, instead of just was probable? We can not know for certain what the future holds. They say that a butterfly flapping its wings can cause a change in the weather halfway around the world. So just imagine what one person could accomplish locally. Life can not be lived in reverse. Knowledge thinks of the past but imagination is the future. Just imagine what the future holds. "

"If you only try to please e others, you are going to resent these people you are trying to please; the ones who one often closest to you. If you yourself want to take , than you are going to be much kinder to the people in your life. "

Clean Energy from Wastewater

Do you know that the warm water flushed down to your city's sewage system can become a huge source of energy. I am serious. Heat of wastawater is already being put to use in a handful of buildings in British Colombia . There is a company  called International Wastewater Systems hopes to turn that a formidable business. According to the today's Globe&Mail post. That kind of energy recycling method can be used in densely packed cities that geothermal power is impractical. I hope City of Edmonton consider that issue to reduce cost of energy for all kind of  services that provides to the Edmontonians.
